I own/manage a 96 acre farm 50 km. east of Ottawa, Ontario. My family has lived here for 40 years and the property is pesticide/herbicide/commercial fertilizer free for the past 25 years. Until 10 years ago we grew a combination of cattle(cow calf), ducks, Chickens, pigs and a small garden. Twenty years ago we made a 10 acre wetland in a bog area; and a three acre pond in a dry area near one of our 4 barns.Seven years ago we planted 10,000 trees on any marginal land. There are 2 rain fed streams and 1 spring-fed stream. I am going to develop a permaculture system on the farm.
